GERINDTEC´s Business Unit Solar is teaming up with its collaboration partners CITRIN SOLAR and AGILA SOLAR of Germany to offer state-of-the-art solar thermal technologies like Legionelle-free large scale solar water heating systems for hospitals, hotels, large apartment’s buildings and industrial clients. This Business Unit has as its focus a system integrator for large scale solar heating systems for hotels, resorts, and hospitals where the hot water requirement is more than 25000 LPD.

Together with our technical partners we bring to the table over 20 years experience in solar thermal technologies.

GERINDTEC’s partners are also manufacturers of medium-, and large scale solar thermal solutions for hot water and space heating in Europe, this includes production of high-end solar thermal storage systems and Solar collectors with highly selective coatings and all of the hydraulics necessary for large scale solar heating operations.

Any solar heating solution proposed for such large scale requirements:

- should be able to integrate seamlessly with the current system used relegating to a back up option in case of cloudy days and monsoon.
- should bring down fuel costs by at least 50 to 60 % so that the capital costs are recovered over a period of three to five years.

Specialized highly energy efficient integrated solutions for mid and large scale solar thermal use in larger hotels, resorts and hospitals, where space availability for  solar collectors is limited are often an issue, hindering the effective use of solar thermal technologies.

This calls for the integration of highly selective collectors with specially designed heat storage systems- and the improved hydraulic design that ensures the optimal utilization of the space available- the highest energy efficiency of solar thermal systems and reduces considerably the use of primary energy like diesel, electricity, and reduces the carbon foot print.

The systems must be conceived, designed and built to work in tandem with the present system used by the establishments and seamlessly integrated to have highly efficient and cost effective hot water supply, space cooling and heat storage systems to harness the maximum energy.

Currently many large hotels, resorts and hospitals use either electricity from grid supply or diesel for heating water. This calls for a considerable use of energy from fossil fuels and higher costs.

GERINDTEC and its international partners CITRIN Solar- and AGILA of Germany have the necessary expertise and technology in designing complete solar thermal systems and the hydraulics involved to address the limitations and short comings of present solar heating systems. Our partners have built hundreds of hot water systems across Europe which meet the highest quality standards in design and construction.

GERINDTEC team possesses the necessary expertise, technology and know-how to integrate different components of highest specifications in order to ensure the most efficient use of energy.

GERINDTEC has already received the support of MNRE and the German government department GIZ (formerly know as GTZ) to launch an unique Solar thermal de-salination solution, to produce clean drinking water from sea water and mineralized ground-/brackish water, to Lakshadweep Islands, using highly energy efficient process of evaporation and condensation of Sea /Brackish water. A paradigm shift in design concept and the latest technology and components in Solar Thermal Technologies have to be used for such a unique solution for de-salination.

For establishing the proof of concept in Solar Desalination, GERINDTEC has built at its own cost, a Technology Demonstration pilot plant with a capacity of 1000 LPD near Chennai.

GERINDTEC team has gained considerable expertise in the installation and commissioning of the first solar Desalination plant which calls for special design to  harness solar energy by heating water on a large scale using specially designed flat panels; highly selective coatings, heat storage for continual Desalination overnight.
